"The desire to create is create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul." ~Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Too often I see educators using devices to CONSUME information. I believe there is a time and place for consuming in the classroom, but I also believe that CREATING is going to lead to much deeper learning.
Think about it.
When was the last time you created something? It had your attention. You were engaged. Why do you think Pinterest is so popular? It gives us a ton of ideas about things we can/could CREATE!
Now think of a time when you just had to consume information, whether it be from a lecture, looking facts up in a text or by using the internet to complete a worksheet. You probably had to regurgitate that information back on a test, then you conveniently forgot everything you just "learned."
I challenge you to give it a shot with your students during your next unit, chapter or assessment.
Let them be CREATORS!
